Got up real early this morning and drove to Elmhurst, IL and loaded a Caterpillar 924K Wheel Loader that is going to Orlando, Florida.
Left there and got stuck in the normal Chicago bumper to bumper traffic. After I made it through that mess I continued down to more bumper to bumper traffic going around Nashville. That was caused by a car fire. Made it through Cincinnati without any slow downs. But south of Lexington, Kentucky had more bumper to bumper traffic. This time it was a five car wreck. Made it past that, went a little farther and stopped for the night at the Pilot truck stop in Williamsburg, Kentucky. Gonna start very, very early tomorrow.

Left Marion, Illinois this morning and drove straight up to Davenport, Iowa and delivered the excavator. Stopped by the Daily terminal in Bettendorf, IA and dropped off some stuff that I had for them. Next load is over in Elmhurst, Illinois. Drove to the TA truck stop in Morris, IL for the night.

Was first one in and loaded this morning. Glad I was there all night. There was eight trucks waiting this morning when they opened. Loaded a John Deere 250G Excavator that is going to the John Deere plant in Davenport, Iowa.
Here is a short video for you to think about. I am doing 55 mph entering a construction zone on a bridge where the lane narrows. There is only 6 inches clearance on either side of the truck going through, and it narrows even more right at the end. Take another look at the photos above and see how much of the excavator is hanging over the side of the trailer. OK, now watch the video.
Do you think you could do that without hitting anything?
Made great progress today and got a lot farther than I thought I would. Stopped for the night at the Pilot truck stop in Marion, Illinois.

I didn't think noon would ever arrive!! It finally did and I drove to Raleigh, NC and delivered the building. Here is a video if them unloading all 48,000 pounds of it.
Sorry, I know it wasn't very exciting.
After that I drove to Kernersville, NC for my next load. Because of the stupid regulation keeping me from starting today until noon, I arrived too late to load today. Parked there for the night and will load first thing in the morning.
