Left Greensboro, NC this morning and had a nice uneventful day on the road.  Very nice driving day.  Stopped and got the truck washed on the way.  That means that it is going to rain.   Drove all the way home to Seville.  Will be here for the weekend.  Deliver in St. Petersburg Monday morning.

When I left the rest area this morning I turned on the air conditioning and the fan knob fell off in my hand.  It broke off from old age.  Had to use a pair of pliers to turn the A/C fan on.  Felt like a real "red neck".  Little did I know that was a sign of how the day would go.  On the way to deliver the bags of gravel the air conditioning started to blow warm air.  Not good.  Drove into Thomasville and delivered the bags at a job site where they are expanding a water treatment facility.

My next load was in Burlington, NC so I drove over there and picked up 39,000 pounds of aluminum extrusions (don't ask me what they are or what they are for) going to St. Petersburg, Florida.  I got there at 11 am and didn't finish until 4 pm.

When I finally got out of there my air conditioning was still blowing warm air so I went to the Peterbilt shop in Greensboro, NC to get it fixed.  Fortunately they are open until 11 pm.  I looked it up on the Internet.  I had no refrigerant in the system.  After he tested it he found that the compressor was bad and so were the two hoses that go to and from the condenser.  He fixed all that, tested it and it all worked fine again.  He replaced the broken fan knob too.  Left there at 9 pm and $986 poorer but I was cool again!!  Went straight to the TA truck stop and took a well deserved l-o-n-g hot shower and went to bed.

Drove to Adger, AL this morning and delivered the pipe to a coal mine.  A big one.  It was about 20 miles back in on a narrow two lane road that was up and down and full of twists and turns.

When they were unloading the pipe they dropped it!!   Made a huge noise.

After that mess was cleared up I drove over to Elmore, AL for my next load.  Picked up a bunch of bags of gravel.  Maxed out on weight for the truck!  Just under 80,000 pounds.  They are going to Thomasville, NC.

Drove to a rest area near Charlotte, NC for the night.

Yesterday afternoon I decided to drive up to Dublin, GA so I could deliver first thing in the morning.

This morning I delivered the big blue box.

After that I drove over to Sandersville, GA and picked up a load of PVC pipe that is going to Adger, Alabama.  Adger is a little south and west of Birmingham.

Drive down to the Petro truck stop in McCalla, Alabama.  This is one of the truck stops that was hit by a tornado.  Fortunately this one didn't get it too bad. Minimal damage here.

Enjoyed my weekend off.  Today went to Thermo King in Ocala and had a little work done on my APU. Hopefully that is all it needed.  Then replaced two more rear tires.  Only two more left to do and then they all will be done!  After that drove back home.  Will leave real early tomorrow morning to deliver the big blue box.  Have another load ready for me when I get up there.
