First thing this morning I went to the Port of Baltimore and loaded a Caterpillar 326FL Excavator that is going to Houston, Texas. This one didn't have the boom on it, but it had the counter weight on the back. Makes it very tipsy to drive with most of the weight to the bank of the machine, and even more fun to load. Have to pull up to the trailer and then back it on. Oh, and to make it even more fun, it was raining. That makes the trailer very slippery. And just to add another wrinkle, half of the tracks of the machine hang over the side of the trailer. You want to try it? Back it on blind without dropping it off the side.
Finished securing it just as the Baltimore curfew ended. Left there and had heavy traffic going around Baltimore and Washington DC with a bunch of bumper to bumper too. The rain didn't help much either. Finally got out of the mess and drove down to the Petro truck stop in Glade Spring, Virginia for the night.
