First thing this morning I went and got some Shipley Donuts. Fresh and warm!!  They are good cold but when they are warm, they are melt-in-your-mouth DELICIOUS!!!!!!

Got my next load.  It is Monday in Minden, Louisiana.  I went back to the Daily yard and picked up my trailer and drove up to the Petro truck stop in Shreveport, Louisiana for the rest of the weekend.

Thursday, September 22, 2016

This morning drove to the Caterpillar dealer in Houston and delivered the excavator.  Don't have another load yet so I went to the Daily terminal and dropped off my trailer.  Then went over to the TA truck stop in Baytown, Texas to wait.

Timed it pretty good again.  Got to Little Rock at 9:10 this morning.  Another good day on the road.  Nothing exciting.  Stopped for the night at a truck stop in Huntsville, Texas.  Can't go in to Houston until 9 so I can sleep in a bit in the morning.

Tuesday, September 20, 2016

Left this morning at sunrise in the fog.  After a while it lifted and the rest of the day was picture perfect weather.  The foliage is just starting to change color.  Most enjoyable day on the road.  The only exception was an a'hole scale cop.  Aside from that, a great day.  Stopped for the night at the TA truck stop in Earle, Arkansas.  Will have a late start in the morning.  Can't go through Little Rock until 9 am CDT.  I'll time it so I get there right at 9.

First thing this morning I went to the Port of Baltimore and loaded a Caterpillar 326FL Excavator that is going to Houston, Texas.  This one didn't have the boom on it, but it had the counter weight on the back.  Makes it very tipsy to drive with most of the weight to the bank of the machine, and even more fun to load.  Have to pull up to the trailer and then back it on.   Oh, and to make it even more fun, it was raining.  That makes the trailer very slippery.  And just to add another wrinkle, half of the tracks of the machine hang over the side of the trailer.  You want to try it?  Back it on blind without dropping it off the side.

Finished securing it just as the Baltimore curfew ended.  Left there and had heavy traffic going around Baltimore and Washington DC with a bunch of bumper to bumper too.  The rain didn't help much either.  Finally got out of the mess and drove down to the Petro truck stop in Glade Spring, Virginia for the night.

All I did today was move down to the TA truck stop in Baltimore, Maryland.  Then watched football for the rest of the day. Load tomorrow morning over at the port.
