I left at 9:30 PM EST last night. I went past the Louisville airport, where the UPS cargo plane crashed a couple of days ago. Unfortunately, I couldn't see anything because it was too dark. Drove 560 miles to the TA truck stop in Cartersville, Georgia.
At 6 AM EST this morning, I checked in to get loaded. About 20 minutes later, they called and said that my genset was not in the system yet and would call me when it was. At about 9:30, they called and said that the genset was not ready to go and would not be ready for at least two days. I notified my dispatcher. At about noon, I was told that they were switching some things around, and I still may get loaded. At 2:45 PM EST they called me over to load. Loaded a Caterpillar engine and four parts boxes that are going to Savannah, Georgia.
After that, I went back to where I started from and parked. I'll leave later and drive all night.
My pilot escort cars showed up on time, and we left a half hour before sunrise. Drove the rest of the way to Neenah, Wisconsin, and delivered the crate. My next load is down in Lafayette, Indiana. I drove down there and parked for the night in the truck staging area, where I'm loading in the morning. 449 miles today.
My new escorts were on time this morning, and we left a half hour before sunrise. Had a very good day on the road. LOTS of back roads and two-lane roads in Illinois. That always makes for an interesting trip. Stopped for the night at the Flying J truck stop in South Beloit, Illinois. I fired one of my pilot cars this evening. Will get a new one in the morning. 417 miles today.
Well, the office staff screwed up. They didn't get me any pilot cars for today. After the office staff came in to work, I sent them an email asking where my cars were. They got on it right away and ordered two of them for me. They arrived around 2 PM EST. At that point, it was a waste of time to go anywhere today, so we will get started a half hour before sunrise in the morning.
Even though they didn't win, they played great!! What a good game that was!!!
