Had the truck serviced this morning. Oil changed, air filter changed, and chassis greased. When that was done I drove down to the TA truck stop in Baltimore for the rest of the weekend.

Went in to Murrysville, PA this morning. The way the stupid State had me routed it took an hour and a half to go 45 miles. Two lane roads for some of it. Steep up and steep (the warning signs said they were 20% grades!!) down and full of curves. Full of stop lights too - of course I got almost all of them red!!! Delivered the dozer. Then drove over to the "home office" in Carlisle, PA and picked up a couple more heavy chains and binders. Spent the night at the Petro truck stop in Carlisle. My next load is a real good one!! Really looking forward to it!! Loads Monday morning in Baltimore.

Very uneventful day on the road. Left Crawfordsville, IN a half hour before sun up. Could have delivered today except I was a smidgen too late and missed the Pittsburgh curfew. Stopped for the night at a truck stop in Smithton, PA. Will start after 9 am tomorrow morning and deliver tomorrow.

Left London, Ohio a half hour before sun up and drove in to Pekin, Illinois and delivered the steel castings. Next load was in Creve Coeur, Illinois. Fortunately It was only 12 miles away. It was so dusty there that when I pulled in to load I had to wait a few minutes before I could see to back up. Loaded a Caterpillar D7E Dozer. It is going to Murrysville, PA. I am oversized heavy, not wide.
After securing it I got back on the road and drove to Crawfordsville, Indiana to the Pilot truck stop for the night. Crappy dinner at Subway (YUCK!! I hate Subway - over priced crap!!) and a long hot shower to get 20 pounds of dust and dirt off.

Got on the road at 9 am this morning. Nothing real exciting. Passed a couple huge forest fires in western Virginia (not West Virginia). I'm sure they had a hard time fighting those today. There was a heavy wind blowing, at least 30 mph.
This is the bridge over the river from West Virginia going into Ohio on US-33. A tarping nightmare!! NO WAY would that even be a consideration with me!!
Drove to the TA truck stop in London, Ohio for the night. That is west of Columbus.

Had a fantastic time with my brother and his family this past weekend. Now it is back to work. Went back to the Port of Baltimore in Dundalk, MD and finally unloaded the dump truck chassis. After that drove down to Norfolk, Virginia for my next load. Picked up three steel rings (castings) for a crusher. They weigh about 10,000 pounds each. They are going to Pekin, Illinois.
Unfortunately I didn't finish loading and securing it to the trailer before the Norfolk curfew. Had to sit and wait until 6 pm before I could go anywhere. In Virginia I had to be off the road 1/2 hour BEFORE sundown so when curfew was over I only had 15 minutes to drive to a truck stop for the night. Can't start until 9 am tomorrow morning, so I'll be here for a while.
