I left at about 11:30 PM CST and drove the rest of the way to Laredo, TX. I got there around 6 AM. Found out that they don't accept deliveries until 9. While sitting there waiting, I took off most of my securement stuff. Two other trucks arrived and parked behind me. At 9:10, a guy came out and said that this stuff was too big for this location and directed me to another place about 20 minutes away. While I was putting on the securement stuff I had just removed, the other two trucks took off and went to the other site. When I got there, I was now last in line to get unloaded. I left there at about noon-30. Since I had no more hours left for today, I went to the TA truck stop just down the road. When I tried to get fuel, the buttons on the pump didn't work, so I'll get fuel somewhere else. I'm tired, aggravated, phone is off, good night.

I left at about 2 AM EST and drove the rest of the way down to South Bay, Florida. I arrived at 5:45 AM. They are making a 16-mile dam and reservoir there. The project is massively huge!!!! They were not ready for us when we arrived. They didn't have anything big enough to lift the counterweight. They tried with a Caterpillar 966 Wheel Loader that had fork attachment on it. When they lifted it, the counterweight didn't move, but the back wheels of the wheel loader came up off the ground. SO, I had to wait while they called something to come and lift it. At about noon, they finally lifted the counterweight off my trailer, and I left. Stopped for the night at the TA truck stop in Vero Beach, FL, because I was just about out of hours for today. Burned up too many sitting around waiting. I load tomorrow in Brunswick, Georgia.

I left at about 11:30 PM MST. Another very good night/day on the road. As I went through Amarillo, Texas, I stopped for lunch at The Big Texan. They are all decorated for Christmas. No one was doing the 72-ounce challenge today.
Delicious, as usual. After lunch, I continued on to the Love's truck stop in Quanah, Texas. Will be here until Monday morning. 640 miles today. Now it is time for some SEC football.

I left at about 2:30 AM MST this morning. Had a great drive through the Rocky Mountains on I-70. The weather was perfect!!! Didn't even need a jacket all day. Drove to Grand Junction, Colorado, and delivered the dozer. My next load was down in Durango, Colorado. That was about 4 and a half hours away. Had to go through Moab, Utah, to get there. Arrived and loaded a Caterpillar 315 Excavator that is going to Dallas, Texas.
I went to the closest truck stop to park. I was low on hours. It really isn't a truck stop; it is more like a convenience store with about 4 truck parking places. I was lucky to get one. I'll do my 10 hours (or so) and head out toward Dallas. 532 miles today.

Thursday, November 6, 2025
At 6 AM EST this morning, I checked in to get loaded. About 20 minutes later, they called and said that my genset was not in the system yet and would call me when it was. At about 9:30, they called and said that the genset was not ready to go and would not be ready for at least two days. I notified my dispatcher. At about noon, I was told that they were switching some things around, and I still may get loaded. At 2:45 PM EST they called me over to load. Loaded a Caterpillar engine and four parts boxes that are going to Savannah, Georgia.
After that, I went back to where I started from and parked. I'll leave later and drive all night.

Well, the office staff screwed up. They didn't get me any pilot cars for today. After the office staff came in to work, I sent them an email asking where my cars were. They got on it right away and ordered two of them for me. They arrived around 2 PM EST. At that point, it was a waste of time to go anywhere today, so we will get started a half hour before sunrise in the morning.
