Since my loading appointment wasn't until 1 pm I had a little time to kill.  Went to the shop and had my truck chassis greased.  After that was done I went over to load.  I was real early.  The Navy AWACS airplanes were doing touch-and-go's at the base close by.  They were going right over my head as they came around.  Very cool!!

Finally loaded another communications building that is going to Frederick, MD.

Left there but didn't get very far before I ran out of daylight.  Passed what was left of a semi truck roll over crash.

Stopped for the night at the TA truck stop in Tallulah, LA.

This morning had my generator serviced at Cummins in Houston.  After that was done I went back to the Daily yard and got my trailer.  My next load is tomorrow afternoon up in Bossier City, LA.  Can you guess what I'm loading??   I'll bet you can!  The video below is a time lapse of the trip up US-59, US-79, I-20 and into the Petro truck stop in Shreveport, LA where I'll spend the night.

This morning I went over to Shipley and bought a box of do-nuts.  They were warn and delicious!!!!

Left at sunrise this morning and drove straight to Humble, TX and delivered the dump truck.  

Last night my generator was giving me signs that I was WAY overdue for service.  After I delivered, I went over to Cummins and bought a fuel filter and scheduled an appointment for Monday morning to have it serviced.  Then I went to the Houston Daily yard and dropped off my trailer.  After that I went to the TA in Baytown, TX for the weekend.  There I changed the fuel filter on the generator.  Of course, I made a mess!!  But at least I did it.

Left Jacksonville at sunrise this morning. Very nice day on the road until Baton Rouge, LA.  Got there at rush hour.  Here is a video of an almost crash that happened right in front of me on I-10 in Baton Rouge. The traffic was backed up from the exit ramp out on I-10.  The idiots that try to go to the front and cut in then block the travel lanes on I-10 causing more problems as you will see in the video.

Stopped for the night at a truck stop west of Baton Rouge in Port Allen, LA.

Went the rest of the way in to North Charleston, SC and delivered the building.

Then drove over to the other side of North Charleston and loaded a Terex T300 dump truck that is going to Humble, Texas.

 Left there and drove home for the night.

Left at sunrise this morning.  Nice day on the road.  Georgia routed me all over the place.  But this time I know why.  They are doing a lot of construction on the Atlanta beltway and traffic is a disaster - worse than normal.  Last time I went through there they had the area of I-20 and I-285 all messed up.  4 lanes down to 2.  In Atlanta, that is a disaster even on the weekends.

Passed the Regions Bank bicycle today.  Actually, it passed me.  Have you seen it on the TV commercials?

Stopped at the TA truck stop in Madison, Georgia.  I don't deliver until Wednesday morning so I'll stay here probably until Tuesday. Plus, I don't have a South Carolina permit yet.

Went in to Bossier City, LA this morning and loaded a communications building that is going over to Charleston, South Carolina.

Left there and started driving.  Here is a video of an idiot woman in a Prius (of course!!).  This happens a lot.  She passes me, cuts in front if me even though there is plenty of open road in front of her.   Then she slows down!!  Now I have to go around her!!  I would love to know what these idiots are thinking!!  

I stopped for the night at the TA truck stop in Meridian, Mississippi.

Well, I finally got another load.  Unfortunately it is all the way over in Bossier City, Louisiana.  So I hit the road and drove over there.  Stopped for the night at the LA Welcome Center on I-20.

Went back to Kenworth and waited for the part to arrive.  It finally got there and they installed it.  Again, it took all day!!  They had a washer and drier (both free) there so I did three loads of laundry while I waited.

Still don't have another load yet so I went back to the Love's Truck Stop to wait some more.

Drove to Odessa this morning and delivered the excavator.  In the process, ripped a mud flap off.  Then my fifth wheel broke so I had to go over to Kenworth to get all that fixed.

They didn't start on my truck until 4 pm local time.  Fortunately they are open till midnight. 

They were able to fix the mud flap but had to order the part for the fifth wheel. Won't be here until Wednesday.  So I got my truck back and went to the Love's truck stop to wait till Wednesday.

Left a half hour before sunrise this morning.  Another nice day on the road.  Stopped and got the truck washed.  Then continued on down to the TA truck stop in Big Spring, Texas.  Then did some serious cleaning.  Cleaned and vacuumed the cab and bunk area. Scrubbed the floor, the walls, the air conditioner, and the windows.  Did some minor repairs outside too.  After that was all done, took a shower and settled in for a nice weekend of football.  I love football season!!!!!

Hit the road right at sunrise this morning.  Pushed it hard today.  Was a great day to be on the road!!  Perfect weather and very little traffic problems.  In Tennessee passed another fatal crash.  A Ford mini van left the road and into the wide median and slammed into a tree head on.  It burst into flames.  The commotion was pretty much over with when I went by but the Highway Patrol homicide team was hard at work.  Arkansas detoured me all over the place.  But in spite of all that still made it 676 miles and stopped for the night at the TA truck stop in Rockwall, Texas.  That is about 35 miles east of Dallas.

This morning drove to Randleman, NC and delivered the engine.  Then on up to Kernersville, NC and loaded a Hitachi Z250G Excavator that is going to Odessa, Texas.  I am at 103,000 pounds.

Left there and headed west.  It was overcast all day so the autumn colors didn't "pop" out.  But I still took some photos for you of I-40 in North Carolina west of Asheville.

Stopped for the night at the Petro truck stop in Kingston Springs, TN.  That is west of Nashville.

This morning to Newberry and loaded a Caterpillar C-9 Engine that is going to Randleman, NC. 

 After that drove down to Summerville, SC and delivered the mini excavator.  After that drove to Florence, SC to the Petro and ate dinner and got a shower.  Had the best steak dinner I have ever had at a TA/Petro truck stop.  Wish they all did this.

Then drove to the Wilco/Hess truck stop in Candor, NC for the night.

This morning went over to Griffin, GA and loaded a Caterpillar 3516 Genset and took it 12 miles to the other side of Griffin to a dealer and unloaded there.

After I dropped that one off went back and did another one.

After that was done I went back to the TA truck stop in Jackson, took a shower, did some laundry, and settled in for some Monday Night Football.

It's a good thing that I washed my truck yesterday.  Haven't seen rain for over two weeks, but today I drove 600 miles in the rain!!  Heavy at times.  Took forever to get through Nashville.  Got there right at rush hour and in the rain.  There were little wrecks all over the place.  Bumper to bumper from north of Nashville all the way through to the south side.  Stopped for the night at the Love's truck stop in Jasper, Kentucky.

Delivered the excavator first thing this morning.  Then drove down to Morris, Illinois for my next load.  Loaded a Caterpillar 815F compactor at Richie Brothers that is going to Austell, Georgia.  Here is a video of me loading the machine.

Finally got another load this morning.  Drove over to Athens, Georgia and loaded two Caterpillar 305E Mini Excavators.  The first one gets dropped off in Knoxville, Tennessee.  The other one goes to Novi, Michigan.

Left there and got back to Atlanta right at rush hour.  You know what that means...  Yup, and there was plenty of it too.  Finally got through it all and made it up to the TA truck stop on the west side of Knoxville for the night.

No load yet.  Got my 90 day inspection done and out of the way.  Had a leaking air valve replaced.  Other than that, pretty dull day.
