Thursday, July 31, 2025

When my 10 hours were up, I went to leave.  My trailer had other thoughts.  All of the lights along both sides of my trailer did not work.

The shop here was open 24 hours, so I checked in and waited.

At 6:30 this morning, they brought me into the shop. Here is what they found...

He spent hours working on it.  It really gave him problems. He gave up and quit working on it around 10 AM.  Another guy started on it at about 10:30 AM.  I finally got out of there at 12:15 PM EDT.

I left there and drove to the TA truck stop in Greeneville, Tennessee for my 10 hours.

Thursday, July 17, 2025

This morning, I drove about 15 miles over to Harrisonville, Missouri, to a transfer station for my next load.  For those of you who do not know what a transfer station is, it is a place where the local garbage trucks go to unload when there is not a landfill close by.  From there, the garbage gets put into semi trucks for the trip to the landfill. Anyway, I loaded a yard truck that is going down to Houston, Texas.

I left there and drove to the Love's truck stop in Atoka, Oklahoma for my 10 hours.

Tuesday, July 1, 2025

This morning, I drove to the Port in Brunswick, Georgia.  Loaded a Caterpillar 926 Excavator that is going to Miami, Florida.

These are tricky to load when they don't have a boom on the front but still have the counterweight on the back. There is absolutely no weight on the front; it's all in the back.  Driving them on level ground is weird.  It feels like it wants to roll over backwards.  To get it up on the trailer is not for the faint of heart.  It has to be backed up on the trailer.  Can't see anything going backwards, just have to feel your way up.  Notice it is a bit wider than the trailer and that half of the tracks are not even on the trailer.  Anyway, I got it up there on the first attempt and without any difficulty.  Left there and drove to the TA truck stop in Vero Beach, Florida, for the night.
