Nothing exciting at all today. Got started at sunrise and drove to the Pilot truck stop in Lawrence, Indiana. Now settling in for "Wild Card Weekend" on TV.

Well it did as predicted. We got a little snow, maybe an inch. Out in west Maryland they got 5 inches. Didn't leave the truck stop until about 10:30 this morning. Waited for the Snow Emergency Plan (SEP) to be lifted in several counties that I was going to go through. When the SEP is in effect permit loads can not move in those areas. Anyway, I was able to make it to the TA truck stop in Wheeling, West Virginia before I ran out of sunlight.

Went over to the Maryland Welcome Center Rest Area on I-68 and picked up the loaded trailer.
Just as I was ready to go my Maryland permit arrived. Great timing!! Drove to the Port of Baltimore. On the way I got word that the other truck was fixed and he was on his way to Baltimore too. He went over to the Daily terminal in Baltimore and picked up my trailer. He got to the Port just as I was ready to unload. Again, great timing!! Unloaded and swapped trailers. I then went to a different part of the Port and loaded a Caterpillar 735C Dump Truck that is going to Indianapolis, Indiana. They are a lot of fun to drive, but very difficult to load. It is so big that I can't see the trailer while loading. No room for errors either.
Left there just as the snow started to fall. Went over to the TA truck stop in Baltimore and scaled. I was too heavy on my trailer axles. Got a parking spot for the night and proceeded to unchain everything and move the dump truck back about a foot. Then chained it back down again. Here is my scale ticket:
Going to get snow tonight into tomorrow morning. Baltimore is only supposed to get about an inch, but west of here they are estimated to get between 3 and 5 inches. If that happens, I may be here for a while. Permit loads are not allowed to drive in the snow. I'll be glad to lay down. My back is really bothering me tonight.

Left this morning just before sunrise and drove into the Port of Baltimore and delivered the wheel loader. Next load is back at the rest area on I-68 just inside Maryland. Another driver was bringing a load to Baltimore and his truck broke down. He left his trailer at the rest area and had his truck towed to the shop. I dropped my trailer at the Daily Terminal in Baltimore and bobtailed out that way. Met the driver at the hotel he was at and got the paperwork. Then I went to the Pilot truck stop in Grantsville, MD for the night. Don't have a Maryland permit yet so I couldn't get the trailer. Hopefully it will come in first thing tomorrow morning.

...and big trucks need more regulations because we are so unsafe!!!! Ya, right!!!

Finally able to get back to the road. Left this morning a half hour before sunrise. Drove in the rain all day. Nothing exciting at all today. Stopped for the night at the Pilot truck stop in Hagerstown, Maryland.

Got started a half hour before sunrise this morning. Had to stop very early today because the STUPID holiday restrictions kick in. In Ohio, have to stop before noon. Stopped at the TA truck stop in London, Ohio. That is just west of Columbus. Can't start back up until January 3rd. STUPID Government regulations!!!!

Got started real early this morning and drove the three and a half hours up to Geneva, Illinois and loaded a Caterpillar 980M Wheel Loader that is going to the Port of Baltimore.
Left there and drove to the Love's truck stop in Pittsboro, Indiana for the night. Had a few snow showers here but nothing accumulated. Tomorrow will be a short day. Holiday restrictions kick in so I'll have to be off the road by noon.

Was really foggy this morning. Went over to the Port of Savannah and loaded a Caterpillar 330FL Excavator that is going to Hannibal, Missouri.
Left there in great time. Traffic was very heavy all day but I only had a couple small areas of bumper to bumper. There was a high speed police chase going south on I-75 south of Atlanta that I saw as it went flying by. Traffic going the other direction was a total mess. North of Atlanta it was backed up for about 15 miles. In Chattanooga it was backed up for 10 miles. So glad I was going the other way!! Rained a little on and off all day. Made it to the TA on the south side of Nashville for the night.

Well Christmas went by way too fast. Back to work again. Drove up to the TA truck stop in Savannah, Georgia this afternoon. Load tomorrow at the port.
