Left at sunrise this morning and drove to Cheswick, PA and delivered the conveyor. From there I drove back to the "home office" in Carlisle, PA. Need to have my APU worked on again Monday.

Got up real early this morning and drove into Dulles, Virginia to a job site right next to the Dulles International Airport where they are building a huge Washington DC Metro Rail maintenance facility. Loaded a conveyor that is going back to it's home in Cheswick, Pennsylvania.
Left there just after the DC curfew was over but still had heavy traffic. Out in western Maryland and West Virginia had a lot of snow showers. It was sticking to the side streets at elevation but the Interstate was fine. Stopped at a small truck stop (still snowing) at the WV / PA state line on I-79. Could not get through the Pittsburgh area before curfew. This is the closest truck stop to Pittsburgh along my permit route. I'll get started tomorrow morning. If I can get to Cheswick before 11 am I will be able to deliver tomorrow.

Delivered the CNC machine first thing this morning. Next load is tomorrow in Dulles, Virginia. Drove up that way and stopped for the night at the Pilot truck stop in Toms Brook, VA.

The rain that started last night didn't turn to snow as soon as they thought it would. When I got up this morning there was a light coat of wet snow on the truck and shush in the parking lot. Drove the rest of the way up to Rochester, NY and loaded a CNC machine that is going to Newton, North Carolina.
The it had to be tarped!!
By the time I left there the snow had picked up a lot. Here is a view going down the Rochester city streets.
They did a real good job keeping the streets clear.

Went back over and got my trailer first thing this morning then delivered the excavator. Next load is tomorrow up in Rochester, New York. I headed that way. Stopped for the night at the TA truck stop in Dansville, NY. Supposed to get between 5 and 8 inches of heavy wet snow tonight and tomorrow.

This morning I left just before sunrise. On I-70 and I-68 I saw dozens and dozens of buses heading toward Washington DC for the "Loonie Lefty Ladies March" today. Other than that, it was a pretty easy drive up to Harmony, PA. That is north of Pittsburgh. Went to where I am delivering Monday and dropped the trailer in their driveway. Then went about 11 miles north to the Pilot truck stop in Portersville, PA for the rest of the weekend.

Late this morning I got another load. Drove down to Baltimore, Maryland and loaded a John Deere 245G Excavator that is going over to Harmony, Pennsylvania.

This morning called the Cummins shop. They said my truck would be ready late this afternoon Checked out of the hotel at noon and went back to Cummins to wait. When it was finished I went back to Daily truck shop. He was still swamped. Sent me over to the Petro truck stop to have the oil changed and the rest of the PM done there. So I went over there and had that stuff done. Then back to Daily for the night. Tomorrow I'm supposed to be at the Daily truck shop again to have the rest of the work done.

This morning was at the Daily truck shop to have the work done on my truck. He was swamped, so at about 10 am he called me and said to take the truck over to Cummins in Harrisburg. They were going to address the two "Check Engine" lights that were on. I drove over there and dropped the truck off. They took me over to a hotel where I checked in for the night. We will see what happens tomorrow.

This morning drove up to Poughkeepsie, PA. Had to wait at the Newburgh-Beacon bridge that goes over the Hudson River. They had to stop traffic so that the oversized loads could go across the bridge. They only do that twice a day, 10 am and 2 pm. If you aren't there then you have to wait till the next day. It also costs $100 plus the bridge toll to go across. I was there an hour and a half early. At 2 pm there was another truck behind me to go across too. At 2:30 they stopped traffic and off we went. Once I exited the interstate to go up to Poughkeepsie, NY it took 30 minutes to go 11 miles. Finally made it there and delivered the excavator. I then drove back to Carlisle, PA. Going to have service done on the truck tomorrow.

Went to the hotel this morning. Taught the class this afternoon. This evening went to the Safety Banquet. The meal was very good. I, along with a lot of others, got a nice jacket for five years with Daily Express with no preventable accidents and a good safety record.
Then they had door prizes after a bunch of speeches. I won a couple of shackles, I know that won't excite many of you, but I was glad to get them.
As soon as that was done I got out of there and back to my room. Glad that is over with. Now I can watch the football game.

Drove up to the "Home Office" in Carlisle, PA this morning. After I got here I used their car and ran some errands including doing a few loads of laundry. Tomorrow I'll head over to the hotel where I'll be teaching tomorrow afternoon and where the banquet will be held tomorrow night.

Left at sunrise this morning. Drove in to the Port of Baltimore in Dundalk, Maryland and delivered the tractor. Then reloaded with a Caterpillar 325F Excavator that is going to Poughkeepsie, New York.
Went to the TA truck stop in Baltimore for the night.
As I was walking back to the truck after dinner, I passed this truck in the parking lot.
This is what I worry about every time I leave the truck in a truck stop parking lot. Another truck hit this truck and was nowhere to be found. Hit and run. It happen all the time.
Yesterday, I was asked to teach the electronic logs again Saturday afternoon in Carlisle. Was also asked to go to the Safety Banquet Saturday night. Instead of trying to fight it, like I did last time, I just said OK. Even though I really hate going to those things. So tomorrow I'll go to Carlisle, Pennsylvania.

This morning drove the rest of the way in to Waterloo, IA and loaded a John Deere 9520TPC Tractor that is going to the Port of Baltimore. Of course it was raining. I love driving these things!!!

Went about 10 miles down the road and delivered the dump truck. The load that I was going to pick up today got canceled. So instead, I headed toward Waterloo, Iowa for a load tomorrow. Stopped for the night at a truck stop in Center Point, Iowa. Settled in for the last college football game of the season. Alabama vs. Clemson for the national championship.
